ARTCELL was founded and is directed by Lisa Corsi, who has over 10 years experience within
the visual arts and crafts sector. Corsi's involvement with the visual arts and crafts began
in Switzerland where she worked with artists curating exhibitions in artist-run initiatives,
commercial galleries, corporate venues and inter-governmental bodies, such as the United
Nations. Returning to Australia, Corsi worked for Sherman Galleries 'one of Australasia's
leading contemporary commercial art galleries' most recently, as Curatorial and Collections
Manager. In 2006, Corsi co-curated (with Margaret Farmer) SafARI 2006, the first fringe
exhibition to a Biennale of Sydney (http://www.safari2006.net), and in 2007, Corsi and
Farmer founded SafARI Initiatives Incorporated as a vehicle to continue the Biennale fringe
project into future years. Corsi holds a Bachelor of Art History and Theory and a Masters of
Art Administration from the College of Fine Arts, University of New South Wales.
